My name is Priscilla Ijeoma Ottah, and I am running for Lincoln Park Council because I believe our community deserves strong, compassionate, and honest leadership.

For the past 15 years, I have proudly called Lincoln Park my home.  During that time, I have watched many families struggle with the rising cost of living.  Higher property taxes, increasing grocery and gas prices, housing affordability, and the lack of good-paying jobs have made it harder for many residents to make ends meet.  I am running because I want to be part of the solution and help build a community where families can thrive.

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology in 1987 and graduated from Ibero American University School of Medicine in Santo Domingo in 1988.  Although I chose not to practice as a physician, I have dedicated my career to healthcare.  I have worked in hospital laboratories serving patients at New York City Health + Hospitals and New York-Presbyterian Hospital.  I have also been a professor, teaching and mentoring students in medical laboratory science for more than 20 years.
